1st shakedown ride & camp

On Saturday Carla and I did our foirst practice ride and camp. After prasticing setting up new tent in dining room and infating the air bed in the garage, we put some quickie meals together to take and we were off at about 5:30 pm. I rode out out to boulder beach where Carla met me and we set up a camp. However we had neverinflated the airbed in the tent so we soon discovered that it does not work. So we slid the airbed under the tent and staked the tent down- only to figure out that we will therefor need much longer stakes. Throughout the evening our list of to dos and stuff to bring grew.
After a hut stuffy few hours in the tent , we finally opened both doors, let the breeze blow though and got some sleep. This morning I ran down to the lake , swam 45 minutes in cool clear water--felt great-- ten ran back to camp. Carla added her bicycle helmet and shoes to the list. I rode the 25 miles home in a good headwind.
Made it to church on time and even got to sing "Give said the Little Stream" -my favorite primary song. Took a nap when I got home - it is Father's day- and Carla made a FRESH peach pie from our tree.

Have a happy swim:)

30 days and counting

There's a place that I travel
When I want to roam,
And nobody knows it but me.

The roads don't go there,
And the signs stay home,
And nobody knows it but me.

It's far, far away
And way, way afar,
It's over the moon and the sea,

And wherever you're going,
That's wherever you are ,
And nobody knows it but me.
